About Coach Journal

Coach Journal is an iOS app for people who teach the same students again and again — coaches, personal trainers, swimming and football instructors, music teachers, and private tutors. It keeps your roster, attendance, session history, package balances, and payment status in one place instead of spread across group chats, spreadsheets, and memory.

Why it is called Journal

Before any of this was software, it was a notebook. Nearly every independent coach has kept one: a page per student, a line per session, ticks for who showed up, a scribble in the margin for who still owes for the month. It works because it is quick and it is yours — and it fails the moment you need last month's total, or you leave the notebook at the gym.

Coach Journal is that notebook, kept properly. You still log a session in a couple of taps, but the app does the parts a paper page cannot: it adds up what a student owes, warns you before a package runs out, remembers attendance across months, and exports the whole thing as a PDF or CSV when a parent or an accountant asks. The name is literal — it is the coach's journal, and the running record of your sessions is the point of the product, not a feature bolted onto it.

That is also why the app carries the same name in every market it is used in. In Turkish it is Antrenör Defteri — the coach's notebook. In Spanish it is Agenda Entrenador — the coach's diary. Same idea, same product, translated rather than rebranded.

Who builds it

Coach Journal is built and maintained by Sardorbek Rakhimov, an independent developer. It is a small, self-funded product rather than a venture-backed platform, which is the honest reason the app is narrow on purpose. It does roster, attendance, packages, renewals, and payment tracking, and it deliberately does not try to be a booking marketplace, a payments processor, or a workout programming tool.

Practically, that means you are emailing the person who wrote the code. Bug reports and feature requests go straight to [email protected], and the roadmap is mostly shaped by what coaches actually write in.

How your data is handled

You are holding other people's personal details — often children's — so this matters more than it does for most apps. Coach Journal uses encrypted connections and secure cloud storage, account-based access controls, and automatic backups. Your student records are yours: you can export them as PDF or CSV at any time, and you can delete your account and its data.

Product analytics are pseudonymous and can be switched off inside the app, session replay is disabled, and this website measures traffic without cookies. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Where it is used

The app is translated into a number of languages, and its largest communities of coaches are in Türkiye and in Latin America — Mexico and Colombia in particular. That is why this site is written natively in Turkish and Spanish rather than machine-translated: the guides for those markets are about the way coaching businesses actually run there, down to tracking monthly aidat and mensualidades.

A note on the name

Coach Journal is independent software for sports coaches, trainers, and tutors. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Coach, the fashion and leather goods brand, or to any academic journal about coaching. If you were looking for a handbag, you have taken a wrong turn — if you were looking for a way to stop chasing unpaid lessons in a group chat, you are in the right place.
